A Powerful Night for Detroit Innovation

G2 Marketing & Development Agency (G2MDA) had the honor of joining forces with our partners at The Family Code  for their official launch party held at the vibrant Shadow Gallery in downtown Detroit. The event wasn’t just a celebration — it was a milestone moment for the rising tech-powered companies rooted in Detroit, committed to building opportunities and reshaping the future for entrepreneurs, startups, and established brands alike.

A True Partnership Born at the Apple Developer Academy

G2MDA and The Family Code share more than a vision — we share history. Both companies were formed inside the Apple Developer Academy at Michigan State University, completing the rigorous 10-month journey of innovation, research, coding, and design. Our partnership is not only collaborative; it’s community-first.

At the launch party, it became evident just how aligned our missions are. When The Family Code said during their remarks, “When you see The Family Code, you see G2MDA,” it resonated deeply. Our work together — from brand development and digital marketing to app development and web presence — represents a new wave of Detroit entrepreneurship.

G2MDA Activation + Brand Showcase

At the Shadow Gallery, G2MDA hosted a full brand activation, complete with a curated table, visual banners, and team representation from co-founders Eugene Reid and Gary Fortson. It marked G2MDA’s first public pop-out since launching — and it couldn’t have been more aligned. Guests and supporters learned about our services, saw project highlights, and networked directly with our team.

The event also featured an early showcase of G2’s ongoing partnership projects, setting the tone for what’s next. As we continue to grow, events like these are more than brand awareness — they’re brand building.

City Impact & Community Collaboration

This event wasn’t just about G2MDA or The Family Code — it was a symbol of Detroit’s future. A future where Black-owned tech companies thrive, where collaboration is authentic, and where innovation is cultivated locally.

Key supporters and collaborators were in attendance, and while we won't deep dive into everyone, it’s worth mentioning:

  • First Merchant Bank’s Buzz & David – for spotlighting funding resources in underserved communities.

  • Anny, Director of the Apple Developer Academy – for supporting and speaking at the event.

  • Furman Barnes – for providing videography coverage.

  • Raven – a G2MDA partner who helped capture the night through photography.

  • J&T Kitchen – the Detroit-based caterers who served an incredible spread including wings, fried cauliflower, spinach dip, and more.

Moving Forward Together

As G2MDA continues to expand its reach, collaborations like these remind us of our why: to uplift, build, and inspire. Our alliance with The Family Code signals what’s possible when creators, coders, and marketers work together — not just for profit, but for purpose.

We’re proud to have been part of such a meaningful night — and this is just the beginning.

Stay tuned. More innovation is on the way from G2MDA and The Family Code.
